  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

      From MSDS EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE Eye Contact: (Part A-Epoxy): Product is moderately irritating to the eyes. Ingestion: Product is generally considered to have a low order of acute oral toxicity. (Part B-Polyamide): Liquid causes severe irritation with chemical burns of the cornea. Vapor may produce transient corneal edema with fogging of vision. Skin Contact: (Part A-Epoxy): Product is moderately irritating to the skin. Product may cause skin sensitization. Skin sensitization (allergy) may be evidenced by rashes, especially hives. (Part B-Polyamide): Prolonged or widespread contact could result in the skin absorption of potentially harmful amounts of material. Product produces severe irritation and may cause burns. Inhalation: (Part B-Polyamide): Low concentrations may produce irritation causing cough, chest discomfort, and difficulty with breathing. High concentrations may produce lung injury. Other Health Information (Part B-Polyamide): The main hazards with this material are due to its intensely irritating and corrosive properties. There is no specific antidote and patients should be managed according to their clinical condition. Care should be taken if it is judged necessary to evacuate the contents of the stomach. Aspiration of the substance will cause severe lung injury. Other Health Information (Part B-Polyamide): Exposure to high concentrations of vapor may cause minor transient corneal edema. This condition, referred to as Blue Haze or Glaucopsia

    • Chronic health effects

      produces a fogging of vision. The effect disappears spontaneously within a few hours of the end of an exposure.

    • Carcinogenicity

      From MSDS Other Health Information (Part A-Epoxy): Pre-existing skin allergies may increase the chance of developing increased allergy symptoms from exposure to this product. Pre-existing skin and eye disorders may be aggravated by exposure to this product. Other Health Information (Part B-Polyamide): Repeated skin exposure may cause allergic contact dermatitis.
